Water Ducklings Rules and Regulations
Please take time to read through the following Rules and Regulations. These Rules and Regulations must be observed and performed by all persons participating in lessons provided by Ms Joanne Wilcock t/a Water Ducklings (“Water Ducklings”). 

OUR POLICIES

Health

  1. All known illnesses and allergies of a child must be declared on the enrolment form and brought to the attention of the instructor at the beginning of the child’s first lesson.
  2. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to notify us of any illnesses, injuries or medical conditions likely to impede a child’s safety or ability to participate.
  3. To avoid cross infections if your child has open sores, large cuts or wounds they will not be allowed to swim.
  4. Please do not attend lessons if you or your child is suffering from sickness and/or diarrhea. We recommend that you do not swim for up to 48 hours after you have had sickness and/or diarrhea.
  5. Please ensure that you and your child shower before entering the pool.
  6. All babies and toddlers must, regardless of whether they are potty trained, wear swim nappies to guard against accidental contamination.
  7. Do not change nappies on the poolside – please use the toilets or baby change.
  8. Outdoor footwear must not be worn and prams/trolleys must not be taken to the poolside.

    Safety

  9. Girls/ladies are required to wear swimming costumes during the lessons and boys/gentlemen must wear swimming trunks. Swimming shorts are prohibited.
  10. Any person with long hair must tie their hair back [and wear a swimming cap].
  11. All jewellery except studs and wedding bands must be removed prior to lessons.

    General

  12. Swim instructors may from time to time be required to teach your child in the water. If you have any objections to the instructor being in the water please notify Water Ducklings when making your booking.
  13. Parents are requested not to use video or any type of camera/mobile phone on the poolside without the prior consent of the pool management and the parents of the other children in the lesson.
  14. Your child should be brought to the poolside no more than 5 minutes before the start of each lesson. You should arrange for your child to be collected from the pool no more than 5 minutes after the lesson has ended. No child will be released until a parent or guardian collects them.
  15. Parents must remain on the premises whilst their child is having lessons.
  16. Parents and guardians remain responsible for the behaviour of their children at all times.  When at the poolside children should sit down away from the water’s edge.
  17. The owners and operators of the pool reserve the right to refuse access to or remove from the Pool any person or persons (a) acting in a way which in their reasonable opinion may cause a nuisance or risk to health and safety or may otherwise be considered undesirable or offensive; or (b) who have been previously removed from or refused access to the Pool.

    LIABILITY

  18. Water Ducklings accepts responsibility for the personal safety of any pupil in its care whilst in the water.
  19. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to maintain their child’s safety prior to and after their lesson and to maintain the safety of other children in their care.
  20. You remain responsible for your own property at all times. Water Ducklings do not accept liability for loss or damage to any property and recommend that you use the lockers provided.

    OUR BOOKING AND PAYMENT CONDITIONS

  21. All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance – at least 7 days prior to the commencement of any block of lessons.

    Cancellations and Refunds


  22. A full refund will be provided if a block of lessons are cancelled more than 7 days prior to the first lesson. Cancellations after this time but before the first lesson are refunded subject to a £10 administration charge, which will automatically be deducted from the money being refunded.
  23. Subject to clauses 25 and 26 below, Water Ducklings has a discretion (but no obligation) to provide recompense (in the form of a refund, credit or replacement lesson) for any lessons which are missed or cancelled by (or on behalf of) a child after the first lesson. Any discretionary refund given is subject to a £10 administration charge which will automatically be deducted from the money being refunded.
  24. Credit notes may be issued, at the discretion of Water Ducklings, where due to illness a child will be unable to attend more than half of the lessons in any pre-paid block. A medical certificate will be required before any credit note is issued.
  25. If the instructor is absent and Water Ducklings is unable to supply a replacement instructor to carry out the lessons, a credit will be granted against further lessons.
  26. If the pool is unavailable and it is impossible to relocate the lessons, a credit will be granted against further lessons. Water Ducklings is unable to give cash refunds, unless under extraneous circumstances.
